Congrats on selecting your agent!

They will now work with you to prep the home for sale.

This can take many forms. Sometimes a home is turnkey, but most of the time there are certain things we can do to make the home more “market ready”. Our process allows for everyone to get on the same page with what needs to be done and by what date? Our agents will communicate with you every step of the way here and provide you with all the resources you might need.

Below are some things to consider and likely to be suggested by our agents:

Here are some key considerations to take into account as you get your property ready for sale:

1. Curb Appeal:

Our photographers can only work so much magic and maintaining a good overall appearance of the exterior of the home pays huge dividends. It is super common to need a few things done on the outside of the home especially given the time of the year. We have vendors and contractors to “primp your property” so that it shows really well! Conversely, a property not presented well will suffer in the eyes of the buyers.

2. Minor Upgrades:

We employ our sister company (TENEX Services) to handle all repairs large and small prior to listing the property for sale. Your agent and someone from TENEX will walk th property with you to ensure that all necessary repairs are being addressed.

3. Tidiness and Presentation:

The SLG Team has three certified stagers in its ranks, so e Maintain a clutter-free, pleasant-smelling, and well-lit environment in your property. Attention to small details—such as stowing away pet supplies, displaying fresh flowers at the entrance, or filling the air with the aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls—can make a significant difference. Your agent will review the property pre-listing to offer further staging advice.

4. Legalities and Inspections:

Our team is well-versed in the legal requirements of property disclosures. We can assist you in creating a comprehensive disclosure statement that is advantageous to both you and the buyer. Furthermore, we can recommend pre-market inspections, such as checking for pests or termite issues, to improve your property's appeal.

5. Hosting Viewings:

We will manage the presentation of your property to potential buyers, allowing you to step back during this process. Buyers often feel more at ease discussing the property’s details with an agent rather than the owner. This also enables your agent to effectively represent your best interests when conversing with potential buyers.
